OH my God! It's been that long? I guess so, i took a temporary job that kept me working 60+ hours a week since march. Nothing like getting a workout on a roof, in the rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, lighting and thunder, in 3 inches of ice water, with a laptop and an extention chord to make me happy to not be on those roofs again! If you think I am joking, I'm Not. Well, that project ended and i am between jobs once more and have a little time and energy to employ here again. I have given up hope of making any sort of moeny on this, as it wont without hundreds of hours of work. Also it then becomes a JOB, rather than what i envisioned this as, a hobby. I will eliminate the advertisments to make space for content. Any links i maintain to retail outlets will be soley as a resource for you, without affiliations of any kind to muck up the works. In time i will get a forum together, and i will be brutal in maintaining the F.A.Q. This will be a family oriented site, and anyone hoping for otherwise can jump in a lake with a brick in their shorts.Take a peek, let us know what you need to make informed decisions and we will try to make it happen if we think it's a feasable suggestion. Patience is a virtue, so let's practice it with ourselves and each other so we can all have fun and enjoy our movies! Bill B. Humble Administrator.

MovieSibs Movie GuideHello, we're Bill and Dusty, the adult sister and brother team of The MovieSibs™, your local Everett, Marysville, and Seattle area movie and restaurant critics. We're online to share our opinions about new movies, old movies, and the latest DVD's. We're truly dedicated movie fans, and we'll discuss movies now playing, DVD's just released, and old family favorites. We hope to find lots of great new movies, but if we think it's a stinker, we'll tell you. We may also have a review or two about the restaurants we've visited in the Everett and Marysville area of Snohomish County, WA. Some of them are outstanding, and deserve a lot more customers, and a few we may not be visiting again very soon. We'll let you know. :) We invite you to visit MovieSibs™ often, and share your favorite movie and restaurant opinions with our family and friends, too.

March 17: V for Vendetta
Movies - Movies
V for Vendetta
Title:  V for Vendetta
Rating: R
Rating Content: Strong Violence and Language
Review: A powerful statement about governments and corruption of power. This one was not even close to what i expected, and it was a lot better than i had thought it would be. The photography and acting are good, even the guy in the mask managed a particularly good job, and NO we do not see his face at any time. Without a doubt many will be turned off from the politics that create the atmosphere of this film, but if you do not delve on them, it is a statement about, as V said "It is not the people that should fear the government, but the government that should fear the people." After all, why does a government exist? This film opens up how a government can manipulate it's people into giving up so many rights, they no longer have the right to question. In this world we see an America in civil war, and an England in the grips of a totalitarian regime. America's problems are not the focus here, England's are, and the story of how one man can ignite the fires of rebellion and spark a freedom movement. It is a fanciful story in parts, but it opens eyes and thoughts. More believable than is comforting, this one is a favorite of mine and is highly recommended. Families need to think about how their kids can digest the details of this film to get the most out of it. With the language and violence limited and not particularly graphic, so the main limiter for most might be the concepts that need to be grasped and understood to appreciate the film.

March 10: The Libertine
Movies - Movies
The Libertine
Title: The Libertine
Rating: R
Rating Content: Everything under the sun, Sex, Nudity, Violence, Language, and a few i never thought of.
Review: Holeee Moleee, every thing your mother ever warned you about then some. Graphic, sexual, vulgar, blasphemous and rude are the FEW things i could say about this one, but it's also brilliantly thought provoking and quite a feast for the eyes and mind. In the prologue, one of few movies that have a true one, The Second Earl of Rochester (Johnny Depp) states quite clearly that he does not want you to like him, and indeed you will not, for you will either hate him, or envy him, but you will NOT like him. I am quite certain this film was shaved down a bit to make the R rating, and it barley stays within that rating as it is. The Earl of Rochester was a brilliantly eloquent man who was not appreciated in his time, but he was also a passionate hedonist who reveled in it to his death. Depp masters the character well and portrays the character and the language with a brilliance that makes it an experience to watch. The easily offended will flee this film in the prologue, and the not easily offended might leave very soon after. It will take a bit of effort to stay at points in this film and it's not one to be considered a "not to be missed" so keep that in mind. Nope, no kids, everyone going needs to be 18+, and with very good reasons, for there are many.

The Hills Have Eyes
Title:  The Hills Have Eyes
Rating: R
Rating Content: Violence, Language, Gore
Review: Not quite as bad as some, but not that good either. A whole lot of gore and violence, and it even has a bit of a story to it. However, it's all been done before, the mutants, cannibalism, torment and torture. It is a highly predictable bit of film, and it suffers for it. Yea, leave the kids at home, better yet, stay home with them and watch something on DVD.

March 3, Ultraviolet
Movies - Movies
Ultraviolet
Title: Ultraviolet
Rating: PG-13
Rating Content: Violence, Language, Brief Nudity
Review: Ultraviolet is yet another in a long line of Comic Book heroes turned big screen draws. The effects are spectacular in this film, but the computer enhancements of color and airbrushing go a little far, almost to distraction. Outside that, the story is a nice distraction and a worthy attempt. Many of the action sequences seem a little far fetched, but that makes it all the more fun I think. Being a comic buff from an early age, i still didn't get to read much of the story of Ultraviolet, but I know there is a lot to pack into one film, so they hit most of the key elements and made it a probable stand alone film destined to lack a sequel. Rear nudity of Jovonvich, minimal language and a ton of action violence with little blood give this one a PG-13. Not a lot to be concerned with for the older kids in the double digits i think.
